Baking is quite important to me, as you can imagine. I remember one of the first things I made: chocolate cupcakes. They were a disaster. Exploded all over the oven (someone misread the recipe and used a cup and a half of soda instead of flour…). Things have improved since then! Many of my jobs have included baking in some form or other. From early morning pastry baking at The Cottage, making dozens and dozens of cookies while cooking at a sorority, to coming up with tasty combinations of cheese and herbs to throw into focaccia for the Iowa City farmers market. Now I am one of the owners of The Wedge Pizzeria, baking pizza and more cookies (and pie and cheesecake and cake and and and!).

My joy is creating tasty food and sharing it with others.
